Point 1

Having made the intention to perform Wudu (ablution) in your heart, say:

Bismillah

In the name of Allah

ﺑِﺴْﻢِ ٱﻟﻠّٰﻪِ

Point 2

Wash both hands up to the wrists three times. Make sure to wash in between your fingers and all the way up to your wrists.

Point 3

Wash your mouth three times, using your right hand to cup water into your mouth. Rinse your oral cavity and spit out the water.

Point 4

Clean your nose three times by sniffing the water from the right hand then blowing it out using your left hand. (Rinsing the mouth and cleaning the nose are possible at the same time).

Point 5

Wash your face completely from the edge of the hair to the chin and from your right ear to the left. In doing this, make sure the water has reached the whole face. It can be done one or three times. (Brothers who have beards should take handful of water and put it under the chin then comb to the roots with wet fingers).

Point 6

Beginning from the right hand, wash your arms including the fingers to the elbows three times.

Point 7

Using wet hands wipe your head from the top of forehead all the way to the back of the head and back. Do this once.

Point 8

Pass the wet index fingers on the inner side of the ears and also pass the wet thumbs behind the ears one time. Both ears are cleaned at the same time.

Point 9

Wash your feet to the ankles beginning from the right. Make sure the water has reached the areas between the toes.

First Raka'at of Salaat

Point 1

Stand up looking toward the spot where your head will touch the ground during the Sajdah (prostration). Raise your hands to your ears or shoulders and say:

Allahu Akbar

Allah is the Greatest

اللَّهُ اكْبَرُ

Point 2

Place your right hand on top of the left hand at your chest and say:

A'udhu billahi minash shaitanir rajim

I seek shelter in Allah from the rejected Satan

ﺃﻋُﻮﺫُ بِاللَّهِ ﻣِﻦَ ﺍﻟﺸَّﻴْﻄَﺎﻥِ ﺍﻟﺮَّﺟِﻴﻢ

In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
Bismillahir rahmanir rahim.
بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ {1}
All praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, Al hamdu lil lahi rabbil 'alamin. الْحَمْدُ لِلَّـهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ {2} the most Gracious, the most Merciful; Arrahmanir rahim. الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ {3} Master of the Day of Judgment. Maliki yawmiddin. مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ {4} You alone we worship, from You alone we seek help Iyyaka na'budu wa iyyaka nasta'in. إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ {5} Guide us along the straight path – Ihdinas siratal mustaqim. اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ {6} the path of those whom You favored, not of those who earned Your anger or went astray. Siratal ladhina an'amta'alaihim, ghairil maghdubi'alaihim wa lad dhallin. صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ {7}

Point 4

Now say:

Ameen!

O Allah respond to our prayers!

Read any Surah following below after Al Fatiha in the first and the second raka’ats of the Salaat (prayer).

Say, He is Allah, the One. Qul hu wal lahu ahad قُلْ هُوَ اللَّـهُ أَحَدٌ {1} Allah is Eternal and Absolute. Allahus samad اللَّـهُ الصَّمَدُ {2} He begets not, nor was He begotten. Lam Yalid Wa Lam Yūlad لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ {3} And there is none co-equal unto Him. Wa lam ya kul lahu kufuwan ahad وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ {4}

بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Say, I seek refuge with the Lord of the dawn, Qul-a'udhu bi Rabb il-falaq قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ {1} From the evil of that which He has created, Min sharri ma khalaq مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ {2} And from the evil of darkness when it spreads Wa min sharri ghasiqin 'idha waqab وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ {3} And from the evil of the blowers in the knots Wa min sharr-in-naffathati fi-l-'uqad وَمِن شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ {4} And from the evil of an envier when he envies. Wa min sharri hasidin idha hasad وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ {5}

Point 5

Standing up raise your hands up till your ears or shoulders, palms facing forward and say:

Allahu Akbar

Allah is the Greatest

اللَّهُ اكْبَرُ

Point 6

Bow down for Ruku (waist bow) focusing at this position say three times:

Subhana Rabbiyal Adhim

How Perfect is my Lord, the Supreme

ِﺳُﺒْﺤَﺎﻥَ ﺭَﺑِّﻲَ ﺍﻟﻌَﻈﻴﻢ

Point 7

Raise your hands up till your ears or shoulders while saying:

Sami'Allahu liman hamidah

Allah hears those who praise Him

ﺳَﻤِﻊَ اللَّهُ ﻟِﻤَﻦْ ﺣَﻤِﺪَﻩُ

Point 8

Standing upright say:

Rabbana lakal hamd

Our Lord, praise be to You

ﺭَﺑَّﻨَﺎ وَ ﻟَﻚَ ﺍﻟْﺤَﻤْﺪُ

Point 9

Go down for Sajdah (prostration) and say:

Allahu Akbar

Allah is the Greatest

اللَّهُ اكْبَرُ

Point 10

While in Sajdah (prostration) your nose and forehead are placed on the floor. Palms are on the same line with shoulders or ears and the fingers are held together. Forearms are kept raised the way elbows are not touched the floor. Knees should be planted on the floor with toes standing upright. In this position say:

Subhana Rabbiyal A'la

How Perfect is my Lord, the Highest

سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الأأعْلَي

Point 11

Raise your head while saying:

Allahu Akbar

Allah is the Greatest

اللَّهُ اكْبَرُ

Point 12

When sitting lay your left foot flat and sit on it; keep your right foot upright with its toes facing Qiblah. Place your hands on your knees and recite three times:

Rabbighfir li

O my Lord! Forgive me.

ﺭبِّ ﺍﻏْﻔِﺮْ ﻟِﻲ

Point 13

Now perform the second Sajdah (prostration) in the way described at the Point 10 , and recite the following:

Allahu Akbar

Allah is the Greatest

اللَّهُ اكْبَرُ

Point 14

In this position repeat three times:

Subhana Rabbiyal A'la

How Perfect is my Lord, the Highest

سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الأأعْلَي

Read Surah Al Fatiha

Point 1

Raise from the Sajdah (prostration) while saying:

Allahu Akbar

Allah is the Greatest

اللَّهُ اكْبَرُ

Point 2

Repeat the actions of the first Raka’at as described at Points 3–14

Point 3

After the Point 14 say:

Allahu Akbar

Allah is the Greatest

اللَّهُ اكْبَرُ

Point4

Don’t stand up. Stay in a sitting position as between two Sajdah (prostration) at Point 12 In the sitting position your eyes are on the raised index finger of the right hand facing the Qiblah. All fingers except index together in a fist. Now recite Tashahud silently:

Greetings, prayers and goodness belong to Allah. At-Tahiyyatu lillahi was- Salawatu wat-Tayyibatu التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ Peace be on you, O Prophet and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. As-Salamu 'alaika ayyuhannabiyyu wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ Peace be on us and on the righteous servants of Allah Assalamu 'alaina wa’ala ibadil-Lahis –Salihin السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger ash hadu al-La ilaha il-Lal lahu wa ash hadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluhu. أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

What to do next?

So you’ve comleted two Raka’ats of Salaat (prayer). Now your further actions depend on the Salaat and number of Raka’ats in it.

O Allah, let Your mercy come upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammadin Wa 'ala ali Muhammadin اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ as You let it come upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim Kama sallaita 'ala Ibrahima wa 'ala ali Ibrahima كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ Truly You are Praiseworthy and Glorious Innaka hamidun Majid إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad Allahumma barik 'ala Muhammadin Wa 'ala ali Muhammadin اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim Kama barakta 'ala Ibrahima Wa 'ala ali Ibrahima كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ Truly You are Praiseworthy and Glorious Innaka hamidun Majid إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ

Point 2

Now turn your face to the right saying:

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah

Peace and the mercy of Allah be on you

ﺍﻟﺴَّﻼﻡُ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻜُﻢ ﻭَﺭَﺣْﻤَﺔُ اللَّهِ

Point 3

Then turn your face to the left saying:

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah

Peace and the mercy of Allah be on you
